Almotamar Net - Director of the National Programme for Combating Diabetes at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Saeed Abdulqader al-Dhari on Monday affirmed the necessity of supplying the need of each governorate for diabetes medicines: insulin and drugs taken by mouth,   and providing a reserve of them by an amount no less than 10-15% for encountering urgent cases to avoid repetition of shortages in pharmacies of the Health Ministry. At a workshop on approving the national plan for combating diabetes in Yemen held Monday al-Dhari pointed out the importance of the national strategy for confronting dissemination of diabetes disease and which needs the establishment of specialised clinics in all hospitals of the ministry.

Also, in the workshop, attended by a number of specialists, government officials and representatives for supporting organisations Dr Abdulhakim al-Kuhlani, Director General of Disease Watch at the ministry of health called on directors of health affairs office to prepare a statement of all diabetes patients in governorates and to submit a report on amounts of what each governorate needs and the definition of the problem.
