Almotamar.net - Yemen's parliament approved Sunday amendments of laws in their final versions, supporting amendments of articles 45 and 47 of the law number 5 for the year 1995 concerning labour and its amendments.

The parliament approved the Yemeni pregnant woman right to get childbirth leave for 70 days and addition of 20 day days if her birth was difficult or gave birth of twins and to prevent making her work or sack her at any event during the period of the leave.

Another amendment demanded that the employer must announce in a visible location the system of women employment and allocation of their place where they can perform prayers and spending times of rest as defined legally.
The members of parliament added another article to the labour law forcing the employer to take necessary measures for protecting the expectant woman from any dangers harming her health or her child in addition to another article forcing the granting of the worker or the working woman a one-month marriage leave with full salary and not to deduct it from asset of the ordinary annual leave provided that the marriage is the first one in their life.

The MPs also approved amendment of the law related to securities and salaries making the pension age of 55 as optional for the woman and equal her pension age to that of men which is the age of 60 years.

The parliament also endorsed an agreement allowing the Korean National Company for Oil to enter as partner with the Yemeni National Company for Oil and Minerals Investments by 50% of its share as entrepreneur in block 4, Abad area in Shabwa governorate in addition to extending the stage of development of the block to 5 five years period.
