Almotamar.net, Saba - The government requested Tuesday the parliament to give one day respite to present a comprehensive report on the last developments on al-Qaeda threats in Yemen.

Deputy Premier for Security and Defense Affairs Rashad al-Alimi promised the parliament that he would present a comprehensive report on al-Qaeda threats in the county on Wednesday.

Al-Alimi made reference to the al-Qaeda gathering held on Monday in al-Mahfad of Abyan governorate, indicating to the threats they announced publicly to revenge from the government after the air and land raids against al-Qaeda carried out by the Yemeni troops in the Sana'a and Abyan governments.

The parliament approved on Sunday summoning the Deputy Premier for Security and Defense Affairs and the Minister of Defense on the operation against al-Qaeda.

Early on Thursday anti-terror troops launched ground and air strikes at Al-Qaeda hideouts and training sites in Abyan in the south and Sana'a, the capital, in the north.

About 34 terrorist suspects were killed and other 29 arrested.

Four of the suspects who were injured but survived being killed were arrested on Friday at hospitals in Aden.

The raids were hailed by regional and international partners of Yemen, topped by the U.S.
