almotamar.net - The special penal court on Wednesday upheld 3-5-year prison term given to six convicted members of al-Qaeda.

The court's verdict upheld the preliminary ruling against Nizar Abdul-Rahman al-Jumaihi (Tunisian national) of five years in prison, and to be deported to his country and the three-year sentence in jail against Ibrahim Ali al-Matari (Yemeni).

The court released Mohammed Ghazif Rasoul (Daghestani national), Abdul-Rahman Ali al-Ghurabi, Ahmed Abdo al-Moalad and Ziad Abdul-Hamid al-Mashre'ah on time served.

The prosecution had charged the six convicts with joining during the end of 2008 - until 17 June 2012 an organized armed gang affiliated to al-Qaeda to carry out criminal acts against armed and security forces and facilities.
