By: Jamil al-Jadabi - SANA'A- The Lebanese Book Fair is to start Monday in Sana'a city organized by the Ministry of Culture to support publishing houses in Lebanon that have been destroyed by the Israeli war machine.
In a statement to almotamar.net, Minister of Culture Khalid al-Rowaishan said the book fair, which is sponsored by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, reflects Yemen stance towards the destruction of great cultural constructions in Lebanon during the war.
According to al-Rowaishan, more than thirty Lebanese publishing houses have been destroyed during the war, which halted their participation in any book fair.
This book fair includes seventy publishing houses and is considered as a greeting to the role of Lebanon in publishing books and spreading culture, he added.
Al-Rowaishan further noted his ministry is to honor literary and cultural figures in Lebanon who would participate in the cultural events during the book fair.
The exhibition runs from November 6-15, in the presence of a number of Yemeni poets.
