almotamar.net - SANAA- Chairman of the Shoura (Consultancy) Council Abdulaziz Abdulghani emphasized the importance of engaging civil society organizations in the Higher Committee for Fighting Corruption.
He said "These organizations will have effective partnership in the Committee as they are too close to the society."
In a meeting comprising the chairman of the Shoura Council and the group for coordination of the civil society organizations to discuss the necessity of engaging them in the higher committees of fighting corruption the participants dispatched a letter of gratitude to president Ali Abdullah Saleh for his keenness on activating the role of the NGOs in programs of the state and the necessity of engaging them in all its strategies.
In this regard Mr. Abdulghani expressed his full understanding of the importance of the NGOs participation all activities and programs and also his full support for them.
The meeting reviewed the idea of forming higher coordination committees on combating corruption composed of NGOs and mechanism of those committees and their structure as well as the way of their work and demanded the support of the Shoura council for those committees.
According to a statement issued by the Women Federation the participants proposed the convening of a conference titled "The National Conference for Combating Corruption" where NGOs take part provided to be coinciding with fest ivies of Yemen on the Unity Day.
