almotamar.net - SANAA- The Yemeni cabinet decided continuation of measures regarding collecting the sales tax the way they were in 2006 Along with taking into consideration the keeping of the existent connection with revenues for 2007. it is also to keep into account the changes in the rate of quantitative and qualitative growth in production and importation and the rate of inflation provided that during the present year there will be amendments regarding implementation of the ;aw of sales tax concerning facilitation of measures and their easy application leading to end monopoly.
The measures also include amendment of the law of income tax and the law of investment for the purpose of realizing justice among all investors and to encourage them to invest according to new rules and horizons of capitalist price relations.
That came in the meeting of the cabinet where it discussed the report presented by the prime minister on results of negotiations with representatives of the private sector (chambers of commerce and businessmen) on the practical implementation of collecting the sale .tax.
The cabinet also discussed a report by the ministry of industry and trade regarding the supply and price situation in the markets and the following decisions were taken:
1) all increases on food commodities and products are abolished and to return them back to their condition on 12 December 2006
2) All producers and importers have not to create any price increases on prices of food commodities
3) Producers and mortars are committed t prepare a price list of their products and imports and documents according to which prices have been fixed and to deliver them to the ministry and its bureaus in the governorates
4) Local authorities and branches of the ministry of industry and trade in governorates and the capital secretariat should follow up monitoring work of supply in the markets
5) The ministry of industry and trade should endorse prices of the food goods of wheat, four, sugar, chicken, eggs, yogurt, oils, bread
6) Specialized prosecutions have to quickly decide cases of price violations
7) The governors of Aden, Hudeida and Hadramout have to oblige ports authorities and branches of customs to report to the ministry of industry with statements on prices and quantities of raw material goods imported via the seaports and land outlets regularly
8) The minister of agriculture and irrigation has to work on carrying out article 12 of the cabinet No. 392 for the year 2006 on arrangements aimed at price and supply stability
9) The capital mayor and governors of governorates have to work for activating section 16 of the decision 292 of year 2006 on the supply councils in the governorates and the capital.
