almotamar.net - SANAA- The General People's Congress (GPC)'s General Committee (GC) on its Thursday meeting approved the executive package the government announced with respect to implementing the election platform of president Ali Abdullah Saleh. It has also approved the internal organizational procedures aimed at strengthening the institutional, administrative and organizational action of all departments of the GPC.
The GPC's Thursday meeting chaired by president Saleh, the leader of the GPC the General Committee approved entrusting the secretary general of the party to conduct dialogues with all political parties and organizations on basis of the valid constitution, laws and the GPC's program for the purpose of founding future national accord.
The GC also discussed issues related to the political, economic and development aspects, the laws of taxes and customs and investment as well as the decisions taken by the cabinet on the sales tax law and tackling the conditions of prices. The GC also studied a number of issues and topics on its agenda presented by the GPC's Secretary-General Abdullqader Bajammal that contained the following issues:
-results of the by-elections of local councils
-consideration of the group of executive measures presented by the government for carrying out the election platform of the president of the republic
-the ongoing steps concerning the amendment of the local authority law
-submitted proposals for the amendment of the law of political parties and organizations
-the topics pertaining to internal organizational measures and the executive programs at political, cultural and administrative levels.
The GC evaluated the efforts exerted by the general secretariat and the executive body at both central and local levels. It emphasized that the GPC's organizational, political and intellectual structure represents the essential and necessary pivot in the current stage that stresses the adhesion of the united internal national front and proves that organizational and institutional capabilities of the GPC's work are the major launching pad for the national unity and all decisions of the GPC regarding its historical responsibilities towards managing the state and the society.
In this context the GC discussed a hoist of the coming historic tasks for deepening the partnership and the institutional action in compatibility with future tasks represented by the following:
Firstly, the issues related to constitutional amendments aimed at effecting real development in the legislative power system, upgrading at the same time the role of the Shoura Council in this process and leading to implementation of the president's initiative regarding development of local elections leading to election of governors of governorates ands heads of districts through drawing up necessary constitutional and legal rules for that in a composed realistic, programmed and organized frame.
Secondly, the questions related to amending the law of elections in a manner leading to electoral system having democratic l nature and its sound legal and transparent procedures.
Thirdly, creation of high organizational, procedural and disciplinary rules required by the political process especially regarding the law of political parties and organizations in order to achieve an important essential and disciplinary goal at both political and popular levels.
The GPC' GC as submitting all these comprehensive national issues it aims at mustering the public opinion towards serious and responsible thinking towards the future construction. It also expresses in this regard its sure national desire for a responsible national dialogue where all the political forces shoulder their responsibility as well as to emphasize that the GPC will remain living to its historical responsibility at all events to lead the society to these orientations through which it endeavors to realize enhancement of unity,, democracy and all-out development.
The GC also took many decisions with the aim of consolidating capabilities of the national economy, providing more climates encouraging investments and speeding up patterns of development at various levels.
