almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh said the Riyadh summit is the most successful of the Arab summits in that of the principles stands it has embodied towards a number of issues and topics and dealing with them seriously. He said that was regarding in particular the situations in Iraq, Palestine, Somalia, Darfur, and also the situation in Lebanon and added to all that the Arab leaders unanimity in adhering to the Arab peace initiative without any amendment and the necessity of developing the Arab Joint Action in keeping with the group of challenges and dangers facing the Arab nation and to contribute to realization of the Arab solidarity and common development.
After his arrival Thursday afternoon in Sana’a the president expressed his satisfaction over Yemen’s participation in meetings of the Arab summit and the discussions and deliberations occurred there. He praised the positive results of the summit that have been represented by the group of decisions and recommendations expressing responsible keenness of the Arab leaders attending it in that of taking stands expressing sincere understanding of the current challenges and dangers facing the Arab nation.
He also indicated to stands of the Arab leaders with regard to the Arab initiative of peace and their sticking to comprehensive and just peace as an Arab strategic option and their reaffirmation on the necessity of full commitment of the Zionist entity to the Arab peace initiative as a whole as it represents realistic vision for the realization of the comprehensive and just peace in the region..
President Saleh also said the Arab leaders discussed the situations in Iraq, Somalia, Darfur and Lebanon and agreed in the necessity of finding suitable solutions for those situations in the way guaranteeing security and stability in those countries and meet ambitions and interests of our brethren there.
At the conclusion of his statement the president thanked the King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bi Abdulaziz for the great reception and hospitality and the hosting of the summit.
