Almotamar.net - The General People's Congress (GPC)'s assistant secretary general Yahya Al-Raie confirmed that the GPC is heading towards overcoming the problem of seasonal work due to the challenges that is dictated by development of the political and democratic action in Yemen.

During his opening of the ordinary session of the GPC local permanent committee of Al-Baidha governorate that began o Monday with one minute mourning on the decease d Saleh al-Junaid the former governor of Al-Dhalie governorate, Al-Raie also said the challenges impose on us that and maybe the field visit by leaderships of the GPC in the governorates confirms that the organisation work is witnessing effective mobility to preserve our trust in the people, not just during the period of voting. He said meetings of the committees are aimed for the future preparation for the parliamentary elections in 2009.

The assistant secretary general addressed the 242-member of the permanent committee by telling them they represent the front line of the GPC as they coexist with the people and know about their problems. He said they have to refer those problems to the leadership of the branch to be solved, confirming the necessity of cooperation and coordination. Any breaches by the head of any governorate branch there will be unanimity by members of the permanent committee to withdraw confidence from him in case there are authenticated violations.

Sheikh al-Raie also acquainted members of the permanent committee with situations in the governorate of Saada, pointing out that armed forces troops there are tightening the grip on the elements of terror and sabotage who have taken advantage of president Ali Abdullah Saleh's tolerance and pardon and insisted on being stumbling block to the development and to destabilize security and stability. Al-Raie affirmed that putting an end to this abhorred sedition has become imminent and the homeland will triumph soon.

In response to queries on the issue of high prices l-Raie said there are greedy persons behind that issue but there are different methods to deal with those greedy persons in the governorate of al-Baidha and in other governorates through the local council undertaking of its role in this regard. He said this issue causes concern for the government and for the GPC and there are government instructions on the speed of taking measures to solve the question of high prices, stressing the necessity that the local councils' cooperation with the government in fighting the rise of prices.

The assistant secretary general of the GPC also praised the woman role shown by them in the GPC branch of al-Baidha especially in the organisational work and that it is appreciated by the GPC leaderships.

On his part the member of the GPC General Committee Yasser al-Awadhi confirmed that at the present stage the GPC is proceeding from the fact of consolidating the organisational, political and intellectual building that he considered as he essential axis of the national action and to develop the participation and institutional work under the foreseeable future tasks.
