Almotamar.net - Yemen's Prime Minister Dr Ali Mahmoud Mujawar opened Thursday a four-day Asaad al-Kamil tourist festival in the governorate of Thamar.
At the speech ceremony held on the occasion the prime minister said the past meets the present and originality with modernity as well as the merging of culture with tourism. He said the festival was named after the king Asaad al-Kamil, the historic leader who united Yemen in the past and he bore the title of the king of Saba, Thi Raydan, Hadramout and Yemenat, " it is so beautiful to celebrate the anniversary of Asaad Kamil the unifying of Yemen in the past and we resume the unity of Yemen under president Ali Abdullah Saleh."
The prime minister added that the city of Thamar deserves to have role and positioning the future project of economic, social, and cultural development. He considered the goal the festival has considered is the beginning of the road for thinking and effective initiative for achievement of development and progress. The premier pointed out the importance of providing the infrastructure for tourism and improving the existing of it.
De Mujawar indicated that holding tourist festivals such as Al-Balda, Sana'a Summer and the festival of Thamar confirms a natural beginning for future festivals that can achieve tourist promotion in a better way. He hoped that such activity will be a distinguished tradition in all governorates of Yemen. He added that recently the island of Socotra has been named to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Two artistic works were presented in the festival showing the governorate of Thamar and constituents of diversified tourism.
