Almotamar.net - Meetings of the second session of the General People's Congress (GPC) begin Saturday while it is celebrating its foundation silver jubilee. Assistant secretary general Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani said the session will listen to a report presented by prime minister Ali Mahmoud Mujawar on the government performance and implementation of the president's election platform in addition to assessment of the current economic situation, price and supply stability in the markets as ell as the reforms in various fields.
26september.net quoted al-Barakani as saying that the session will listen to a report by the GPC's secretary general on different organisational and general issues and recent developments Yemen has witnessed during the period between the first and the second sessions in addition to discussion of the rules of procedure of the GPC and some regulations pertaining to enhancement of organisation work.
The assistant secretary general for the sector of intellect, information, and culture and guidance al-Barakani considered coincidence of the session convention with the elapse of twenty-five years on the foundation of the party as an opportunity to revise and assess a long march of work in service of Yemen and the Yemeni citizen.
Al-Barakani pointed out that the GPC would put new priorities on its future agenda taking into consideration that the circumstances that witnessed it foundation are not as similar as the present circumstances.
The session's agenda also includes review of a report by head of the organisation and financial inspection body in addition to discussion and approval of a draft regulation concerning subscription of the GPC members.
The permanent committee will in its session discuss the party's organisation matters in addition to the government performance with regard to economic and administrative aspects and to take necessary decisions about them.
