Almotamar.net - Secretary-General of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulqader Bajammal on Saturday said the GPC programme in the upcoming period would focus on national and organisational issues which require doubling work efforts and the quality of performance in all organisation, political and information fields, each according to his position in the fields of work and production.
Mr Bajammal defined that the outstanding issues in the GPC programme for the upcoming stage will be enhancement of the national unity, dependence of the GPC's political, information and organisation on mobilizing GPC's popular forces in the direction of strengthening the institutional structures of the state, development activity at different levels, fighting chaos and seditions, and any attempts to destabilize the national unity and Yemen's security, stability and social peace of the people.
In his address on Saturday to the second session of the GPC permanent committee Bajammal stressed implementation of a plan for information, political and organisational work approved by the session adding that the GPC branches should draw up practical details in line with peculiarity of each governorate and its social and cultural structure.
The GPC secretary general emphasised the necessity of continuing in treating with consequences resulted from the war of secessionism in 1994 and the necessity that all political forces should keep themselves far from biddings. He said all branches of the party in the governorates have to clarify the correct national and legal stands and to explain necessary measures for securing and balancing the society's interests.
Bajammal said," The political subjects and dialogue with the political parties remain as a sign on vitality of the GPC recent developments on the national and international arena and therefore there must be keenness on it."
He added that the political reforms are particularly focused on conducting constitutional amendments to establish a second legislative chamber, expansion of democracy, decentralization, amendment the local authority law in the direction of electing governors and directors general, amendment of elections law in accordance with the agreement with political parties and organisations, reconsideration of political parties and organisations, confirmation of the national and popular responsibility towards the tools of political action and reconsideration of the law of the press and publications in the way making the media instruments entertain freedom and responsibility.
At the organisational level the secretary general of the GPC outlined most prominent tasks of the upcoming stage stressing the necessity that the local permanent committees to hold their meetings regularly along with following up activity of the branches in the districts and centres, solve all problems facing the activity and hinder its progress, continuous enhancement of the role of the general committee and the general secretariat and creation of dynamic relationship between it and various organisational frameworks, enhancement of mechanisms and communication including strengthening the parliamentary, shoura and ministerial bloc as well as consolidation of relations among them as the coming stage would witness activity related to legislative, legal, developmental, organisational and administrative aspects.
He said " There must be interest given by the general committee and the general secretariat and branches of the GPC to the economic ands development issue, achievement the biggest amount of condensed enlightenment, giving clear picture and reveal facts concerning difficulties of the economic and development and reveal the circumstances that concerning hindrances of the economic situations and the external and internal impact on the people's living life.
