Almotamar.net - The General People's Conference (GPC), parties of the Opposition National Council (ONC), Arab Baath, Yemeni League party and September Democratic Organisation in Yemen have on Wednesday signed on the establishment of a political alliance bearing the name of National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The document of the alliance , signed with attendance of the Vice-President of the Republic , the Deputy Leader of the GPC, included a group of principles related to adherence to Islam as an ideology and law , preservation of the national constants, particularly the republican regime , achievements of the revolution , the national unity and implementation of the constitution and the law.
The document included confirmation of the alliance of repelling all secessionist, sectarian, regionalist and tribal calls, as well as fighting all phenomena of wrong and harmful to national unity political and ideological mobilizations. It also confirmed combating violence, extremism, terror and organised crime and all forms of fomenting seditions and hatred among the one Yemeni society and working for protection of social security and peace.
The document has also included the activation of the role of cultural, intellectual, educational and information establishments in stabilization of the values of unity, democracy, social justice, abandonment of violence, division and hatred and the development of national awareness among the people and building up the human. The document stressed continuation and expansion of political dialogues to include the rest of the parties of political action and civil society organisations to reach at the formation of a broad national alliance to encounter the challenges and conspiracies and safeguard national gains and accomplishments and the construction of modern Yemen.
The alliance document stipulated the agreement on the draft of constitutional reforms as an integrated system within the frame of dictates of the Yemen higher national interest. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) documents also contained a group of essential directions for joint action , mainly contribution to development of the political and legislative system and the local rule system in the manner guaranteeing and meeting requirements and needs of building the institutional civil society , the modern state and the work for completing the election platform of the president of the republic at this stage as a programme agreed on by the parties signatory of this agreement.
The document included the work for preparing all circumstances and climates for holding free and decent competitive parliamentary, local and presidential elections in their fixed dates and the engagement of all parties of political work in the committees for the management of the general elections and referendum , the support for the woman as candidate to attain the membership of the parliament and the local councils , according to the initiative of the President of the Republic and the keenness on impartiality of the public fund and public service in the elections.
The NDA agreed to set up an electoral alliance in the upcoming local and parliamentary elections among the parties of the NDA on the basis of presenting a unified electoral platform and list and formation of joint technical committees for achieving that on the ground. The parties approved what they had agreed on regarding the amendment of the political parties law particularly the bases concerning the parties committee, financial resources and bases of the criteria of distributing the government funding among the parties.
The agreement also stipulated the establishment of Higher Coordination Council of the parties of the alliance. The council is to be composed of secretaries general of the parties or their deputies, a follow-up committee, coordination councils in governorates ad districts, the establishment of specialised political, information, organizational , technical and financial committees . The agreement also stipulated the drawing up of an internal rules of procedure defining duties, specializations and meetings of the leaderships of the alliance and the specialised committees in addition to issuing a newspaper for the alliance.
