Almotamar.net - The First Instance Court has on Sunday decided postponement of 13 Iranians accused of bringing three tons of drugs to next Wednesday to enable the defendants' lawyer to photocopy the fie of the case and in a similar case the court decided to postpone the trial of other 11 Iranians and a Pakistani to the sitting of 2 November 2008 and asked the prosecution to communicate the Iranian embassy to retain a lawyer for defending the accused persons and to make the prosecution present the rest of evidence.

At the beginning of the sitting held under chairmanship of Judge Muhsin Alwan attended by member of the prosecution Himyar Qais, for the trial of the 13 Iranians on charge of bringing 3 tons of drugs and entering the Yemeni territorial waters illegally, the court decided retaining lawyer Abdulaziz al-Samawi to defend the accused persons. The lawyer asked the court to photocopy files of the case so that to present his defence.

As for the sitting for trying the 11 accused Iranians and a Pakistani on charge of bringing drugs to Yemen, confessions of the defendants were presented in reports of the general prosecution. The reports contained the possession of 3560 kg of drugs, seized by American forces in the Indian Ocean during their entering the regional waters of the Yemeni Navy forces.

When asked about their statements and fingerprints, t in statements of the prosecution the defendants admitted them except the Pakistani defendant Jemishid Mohammed Ali Jenkisi who said he does not know about the drugs anything and that the Americans were the ones that put the drugs in the boat, tied them from behind and wrapped their eyes.

Meanwhile the specialised criminal appeal section in Yemen decided postponement of the trial of Sana'a second cell to the sitting of next Monday to enable the prosecution to reply to appeal; of the accused.

In the court session held under chairmanship of Judge Mohammed al-Hakimi the defendants presented appeals petitions and requested to be acquitted.
