Almotamar.net, Saba - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar attended on Wednesday ceremony, organized by Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum (SCER), for launching activities of inaugurating revising voters' records for 2008.
Opening the ceremony, Mujawar expressed happiness for attending this phase saying: "It gives me pleasure to convey to all best wishes of President Ali Abdullah Saleh who authorized me to launch this process."
He asserted on all parties to work together in this democratic process on bases of the national foundations," expressing sorrowful for some political parties' boycotting this process and refusing national authorization to participate.
He asserted government's help to the SCER in making this constitutional right successful saying that he has great confidence of the committee members to correct and revise voters' records, highlighting efforts of the committee in managing elections process.
Chairman of SCER Khaled Abdul-Wahab al-Sharif deliver a speech in which he said revising and amending voters' records represents the firs station for establishing a series of measures needed for carrying out the constitutional right (parliamentarian elections) on April 27 2009.
He said that the committee, as neutral constitutional body, has been keen on participation of all political parties in the office or opposition in the political process on the basis of factional distribution the parties know.
He asserted that in this regard, the committee has called on People General Congress (PGC) and Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to participate in the election process and that with PGC accept the call, refusal of JMP in joining managing election process was expected.
He affirmed that the SCER, avoiding law accountability in carrying out the elections on time, has decided to authorize educational sector to form committees for revising voters' records.
