almotamar.net - The Social Democratic Forum SDF, an active foundation in political issues in Yemen, on Monday inaugurates project of “Women and Political Participation”. The project is to be carried out in collaboration the General People’s Congress GPC and the Joint Meeting Parties JMP with support by Middle East Partnership Initiative MEPI.


The project includes a seminar titled ‘Women and Motivation of the Culture of Political Participation for the Woman’ to be held in Sana’a and attended by leaderships and members from the GPC.


The SDF clarified in a statement obtained by maynews.net that the seminar aims tackle problems of the woman membership in the political parties and placing visions and effective solutions for the women in pursuit to reaching to a real political participation in the public life.

The symposium reviews three working papers dealing with political participation of women in Yemen, the opportunities, dangers and required political challenges.

The SDF also announced it would hold another seminar next Thursday with the JMP.

The project aims to arouse the culture of effective political participation of the woman in political parties and develop active membership and the qualification of 180 woman members of the GPC and JMP parties on skills of woman political participation inside the parties.

It is to be pointed out the project of women and political participation is to continue for one year for training members from the GPC and the JMP in the capital, Aden and Taiz.
