Almotamar.net - Yemen parliament accepted Saturday the proposal submitted by Head of the General People’s Congress GPC parliamentary bloc Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani to summon the government on Monday to discuss the terrorist and security events in the past few days that targeted Korean nationals in a suicidal terrorist operation.
Al-Barakani said the issue of terror is not responsibility of the authority only but rather a society issue and connected with different institutions, including the parliament, government, security, the media and scholars. He considered it the issue of all issues at this stage and an indicator on security failures. Al-Barakani also criticized the ministry of information and its ‘dead’ media as it did not make terror a priority topic. He ha also blamed the scholar , including member of the higher committee of the Islah party sheikh Abdulmajid al-Zindani , expecting from them issuing a religious opinion against killing and terror instead of the question of fixing marriage age for males and females.
Meanwhile, MP Nabil al-Basha asked scholars to focus on issues concerning the society and to keep away from marginal topics and urged the government to adopt a national strategy on fighting terror and a media policy serving the country.
The Islah party MP Abdullah al-Udaini pointed out that the terrorist acts are not acceptable by anyone.
