Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Thursday,” We shall besiege the renegades from unity by the honourable and the sincere as well as by guards of the unity and will not allow the virus of conspiracy and dismemberment to spread never. As we had stood up to it in 1994 we will confront it today as we are stronger and firmer.”

In the speech and artistic party held at the Cultural Centre in Taiz city on Thursday added that after ending the sedition of the secession attempt in the summer the of 1994 the virus of conspiracy and disintegration has appeared again in the heads of apostasy elements acting against the unity.

President Saleh said the unity was realized by backing up of all the honest sons of the homeland and “our brothers and colleagues in the Yemen Socialist Party who called for the unity and for achieving it.”

He pointed to what accompanied sit-ins and demonstrations occurred in some areas in a way violating the law and chanting slogans fomenting to instigating sedition among the sons of the united homeland. He added that democracy is an opinion and another national opinion other than lies and changing facts and those who carry out those acts are ignorant and deceived ones and they do not perceive what would entail those seditions and igniting fires.

The president has also expressed his happiness for sharing with the population of Taiz in their celebrations of the 19th National day of the Republic of Yemen on 22 may and inauguration of a number of projects as well as laying foundation stones for other number of them in services and development areas. President Saleh said the cost of the inaugurated projects amounted to nearly YR 37 billion and those that would lay their foundation stones are at the cost of YR 9 billion in addition to one billion Yemeni riyals for a fishery project in the governorate of Taiz. He said he would not forget the massive demonstrations of the people of Taiz in 1978 when the bases moved from Taiz towards the capital Sana’a in support and nomination of Ali Abdullah Saleh as president of the republic and then it was followed by a number of governorates.

The President has also reiterated his saying that authority is liability, not a gain as it was at that time very difficult after many events and difficulties.

The President said the new generation from the population of the north and the south does not know what had happened in 1078. They do not know what kind of tragedies that was there in the days of separation. Conspiracies were machinated here and there under the presence of two entities in one body and each part was machinating conspiracies against the other. And when the unity was achieved ecstasy filled the hearts of all the sons of the homeland. “Our brothers and colleagues in the Yemeni Socialist Party were of those who called for the unity and called for its realization and the reunification was accomplished on 22 May 1990. “He pointed out that the southern part was used in every 5 or six years to have a round of conflict and brutal massacres and after the reunification the curtain was drawn on the tragedies of those conflicts and had gone for good. That proved that the unity formed the outlet from those conflicts. The President has also urged al to keep away from the culture of hatred and top head for development and consolidation of security, peace and stability. And he called those who seek for attaining power to follow the way of democracy and honest contest by presenting programmes for gaining the confidence of the people via ballot boxes.
