Almotamar.net - Secretary General of the General Arab Woman Union, the Chairperson of the Yemen Women Union YWU Ramzia Abbas al-Eryany is to participate in a conference on non-governmental woman organisations in the Arab countries convened by the Cultural forum of the Arab and Dutch Woman in The Hague, Holland.
A press release issued by the YWU , obtained by almotamar.net mentioned that the conference would discuss gains made by woman charity organisations/societies for the woman in the Arab societies at the legal, educational and labour levels in addition to amending or changing some stances and directions that view the woman as a second rate citizen.
The conference would be attended by some chairwomen of civil society organisations and some ladies concerned with and working in this field from different Arab countries.
The statement pointed out that the conference would also discuss difficulties facing many of woman organisations in Arab countries that take protection behind charity titles so that to avoid some hindrances such as difficulties of registration, financing, independence and officially recognizing them. In addition, the accelerating increase of civil society organizations in the Arab societies has aroused controversy on the national affiliation of those organisations and has been repeatedly accused of being pro-west organisations.
