Almotamar.net - SANAA- An opinion poll recently conducted in the Yemeni street on the race of presidential elections scheduled on 20th of next September revealed that president Ali Abdullah Saleh is still preserving a forward position.
The result of the opinion poll conducted by Al-Mustaqbal (Future) Studies Center including the governorates all over Yemen revealed that president Saleh is enjoying great popularity among the people and is ahead of the rest of presidential candidates by variance amounting 82.5%. the candidate of the Joint Meting Parties (JMP) Bin Shamlan has scored just 14.8% , Yassin Abdeh Said, candidate for the National Council Opposition Parties 1.2% the independent candidate Al-Majidi 1.1% and al-Azab independent candidate 0.4%. S
Out of 7078 persons that have been included in the poll, president Ali Abdullah Saleh got 5848 voices, Bin Shamlan 1051 voices, Yassin Abdeh Said 82 voices, Al-Majidi 80 voices and Al-Azab 26 voices.
The opinion poll was conducted in 21 governorates carried out by a group of field electors and the research sample included various segments of the Yemeni society. The merchants in the poll were represented by 227 persons of the sample, educationists by 99, housewives 1110, businessmen 177, motorists 30, students 1407, doctors 143, workers 1025, military men 280, engineers 131, private sector employees 575 and public sector employees 182.
