Almotamar Net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Saturday two letters from British Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordon Brown and David Miliband respectively over bilateral relations between the two countries and latest regional and international developments of common concern.

Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Saturday two letters from British Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordon Brown and David Miliband respectively over bilateral relations between the two countries and latest regional and international developments of common concern.

The letters were handed over by head of the foreign affairs at House of Commons during his meeting with president Saleh.

In their letters, the two UK officials affirmed the British position, which supports unity and security of Yemen, considering the Yemeni unity as better foundation for enhancing stability and security in the region.

They expressed thanks of the United Kingdom for the cooperation of Yemen in field of combating terror and efforts of finding out fate of the British and German doctors who were kidnapped in Saada.

In his letter, the British foreign minister pointed out to increase of the UK assistance to Yemen to be 50 million by 2011 to support the development in Yemen.

President Saleh valued the UK support for Yemen, highlighting level of the relationship between Yemen and United Kingdom.

He confirmed concern of Yemen to boost its ties with the UK in different field of cooperation to serve common interests of bother peoples.

President Saleh said that security bodies have exerted efforts to following the kidnappers to arrest them to send them then to justice.

On the other hand President Ali Abdullah Saleh received Saturday the Libyan leader Col. Muamar Gaddafi's envoy Ahmed Kadaf al-Dam who conveyed a letter from the Libyan leader relating to bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between Yemen and Libya in addition to developments of common interest in both regional and international arenas.
In his letter Col. Gaddafi confirmed Libya's stand by Yemen's unity, security and stability, stressing that Yemen's unity is a major factor of security and stability of the region. The meeting also discussed many issues of interest to Yemen and Libya.
