Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh met in Sana'a on Thursday chairmen and members of the local councils of Sana'a and Al-Dhalie provinces. The meeting discussed the issues the two councils put forward I their joint meeting held in Sana'a last Tuesday. That meeting discussed aspects of cooperation in development in the two provinces and the difficulties facing the development process and coordination between the two councils with regard to developmental and services projects.

The two councils informed the president on the matrix prepared by Al-Dhalie governor and which was approved by the cabinet. The matrix includes the council's plan and its developmental and services activities. The total amount of the investment amounted to about YR36 billion.

The two local councils discussed in their joint meeting three premises that included financial and administrative reforms made by the two councils , exchange of expertise in this area and each council got acquainted with the other's experience and expertise in services and developmental areas.

Members of Dhalie and Sana'a local councils expressed their condemnation of the sabotage and terrorist acts perpetrated by the elements violating the law an order in Saada province and some areas in some southern provinces aimed at sowing the sedition and destabilization of security and stability and public peace as well as hindering the efforts of construction and development .they declared their standing against those elements and anyone tries to threaten the country's security.

The participants in the meeting also condemned the criminal act against a number of central security soldiers in Al-Azareq area in Al-Dhalie province.

In the meeting President Ali Abdullah Saleh affirmed the importance of holding such joint meetings among the local councils for exchanging expertise and getting acquainted with experiences in the developmental and local field.

The President indicated hat the local councils experience represents a pioneering one and achieved great successes in expanding the people's participation in managing local affairs or in the developmental field and speeding it up , confirming the tendencies towards the move to the local rule system with large powers. President Saleh added that the local authorities in provinces possess at present in the way enabling them to undertake their duties and responsibilities for solving the citizens issues and translation of their aspirations and needs and those powers would be enhanced by approval of the local rule system.
The president emphasized the significance that the local councils should benefit from local social personalities and all activities for engaging them in the process of building, solving issues of citizens and confronting the outlaw elements.

The President said he has listened to many of the issues presented by the participants in the meeting and that he has given his directives to concerned authorities to include the projects in the state plan and councils ' especially relating to necessary needs of the citizens .

The President stressed the significance that the local authority and security apparatuses in Al-Dhalie should perform their role in chasing the criminal outlaws that are committing acts of killing and highway robberies. He urged social personalities and citizens in the province to cooperate with the local authority in performing its duties.
