almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General for Information Sector at the General People’s Congress (GPC) Dr Ahmed Ubeid Bin Daghr has on Saturday refused any dialogue with those submitting issues of secession, emphasizing that the unity issue is categorically not a subject for discussion.
In an interview to the Al-Ahram Al-Arabi newspaper, the GPC leading member has said that the GPC would never put Yemen on dialogue table but ready to dialogue only with those believing in the Yemen unity.
Dr Bin Daghr drew the attention to that the unity is a destiny whose roots are established in the Yemeni society and that centralization is one of the problems that face sons of the southern and eastern provinces and therefore, he said, the GPC intends to transfer the powers and capabilities to the provinces through decentralization realizing to the people the feeling of satisfaction towards the authority and consequently the feeling that they are partners in the political and public life.
He has affirmed his party’s adherence to the dialogue as it is considered the best means for solving problems of the country and expressed readiness of the GPC to offer concession serving the society and security, stability in Yemen and realizes more of social and economic unity.
Bin Daghr accused some regional parties of supporting the so-called the “southern movement” and accused scholastic references in Iran and outsider of it of supporting the Houthis in Saada.
He said al-Qaeda organisation was up until now capable of polarizing some youths and directing them to terrorist acts such as the abortive suicide attempt that targeted the British ambassador in Sana’a recently. He stressed that the state would strongly confront al-Qaeda organisation until it is neutralized for good.
