Almotamar.net, Saba - Vice President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi attended on Tuesday the opening of the sixth educational meeting for auditing the national strategies for the development of general education.

Opening the meeting, Hadi congratulated all workers in the educational field on occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Reunification Day, May 22, pointing that this meeting has become a new tradition, which includes all those concerned with setting the educational policies and planning, implementing and evaluating the educational process.

Hadi noted to the great responsibility carried by the Ministry of Education which receives annually more than 1.5 million students from the children who have reached school age.

The basic education stage is the base and the starting point, through which the generations find their way towards science and culture, he added.

" Your responsibility is large and includes all components of the educational process ,including the school, classroom, school administration ,teachers, and parents, who are aware of their duty and qualified to perform their great mission", Hadi said.

He noted to that the school curricula should meet the requirements of the successful scientific qualification, which meets the needs of society and the comprehensive development, stressing the importance of the continuous development of curricula so as to cope with the developments tacking place in the world.

Concluding his speech, Hadi affirmed the continued support and care by the State and the government for the educational process in order to keep education accessible and free for all and to raise enrollment rates in education, reduce the gender gap, improve the quality of education, and develop the institutional capacity of the ministry according to a common vision with the overall development plans.
