Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has on Tuesday renewed welcome of Yemen of the Turkish investments in gas and oil field, electric power generation and in different areas especially in the industrial area calling the attention that the industrial zone in Hodeida is supplied and businessmen can from the Turkish brothers to receive it in hours.

On his part the Turkish President confirmed his country’s readiness to cooperation regarding the industrial zone in Yemen and offering support for realizing joint investments in Yemen, especially in energy.

That came in a press conference held by President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the Turkish President Abdullah Gul Tuesday following a session of talks in which they have reviewed results of the talks and future horizons for developing the brotherly relations and areas of cooperation between the two countries and peoples of Turkey and Yemen.

The President added that the fruitful results of the visit by the Turkish President Gul to Yemen would open new horizons for development and expansion of cooperation in the economic, trade, investment, cultural and social fields.

He said there are many spacious horizons for enhancing cooperation and there has been signing on Monday of five agreements and today there will be signing of two agreements in the areas of technical and vocational education as well as cancelling visas between the two counties .

President Saleh explained that directives were given to concerned authorities in the two countries on speeding up implementation of cooperation agreements signed by the two countries, including the agreements signed since 1986, numbering 19 agreements.

The President emphasised depth and strength of the Yemeni Turkish ties, saying “The Yemeni-Turkish relations are historical and deep-rooted and old linking us with Turkey excellent relations and there is joint coordination at bilateral level and in the international forums.”

President Saleh welcomed investments of Turkish businessmen in Yemen and I their partnership with the Yemeni private sector in various areas.

He said,” We are ready to handover the Turkish brothers the industrial zone whish is supplied with all services in the province of Hodeoda as soon as possible. “

He has also welcomed the Turkish investments in power generation by gas, clarifying that electric power generation with a capacity of nearly 10 thousand megawatt has been offered to the Turkish side , whether the government side or the businessmen.

He said in case the Turks accepted this offer, the Yemeni government would provide the gas for generating this power, as they did in other countries.

He described the visit of the Turkish President to Yemen as successful and excellent by all standards.

He said “By the will of God the next months and years are to witness more of development of the two countries relations in various fields.

President Saleh also highly evaluated Turkey’s stands regarding the Islamic and Arab issues, especially its honourable stand regarding the suffering of our Arab Palestinian people from the iniquitous blockade by the Israeli occupation.

The President said he has told his brother President Gul on the latest developments in the Yemeni arena; among that related to the democratic process as well as what Yemen suffers due to its confrontation of security challenges especially with al-Qaeda organisation and elements violating g the law.

Saleh affirmed that stands of the two countries are identical vis-à-vis the issues which have been discussed.

For his part the Turkish President Abdullah Gul has expressed his appreciation for the generous reception and hospitality he and his accompanying delegation have received. “I thank very much your Excellency and convey my thanking to the Yemeni government and people and would like to convey greetings of the Turkish people to the Yemeni people, “President Gul said.

Gul added that his visit to Yemen is historic as it is the first by the President of the Turkish republic to Yemen.

He said ,” I feel great gratitude of realizing this historic visit with a big delegation including a number of misters, at the head of whom the Prime minister , the state minister in addition to the ministers of foreign affairs, health and defence in addition to a number of MPs and a big group of Turkish businessmen. “

President Gul added “ Yesterday we held with the President bilateral meeting and then we held a meeting between the delegations of the two countries and we talked about the issues that concern the two states at both bilateral and regional levels. “

The Turkish President affirmed keenness of his country on activating the signed agreements between the two countries, indicating that among the signed agreements during this visit there are a number of fields, among them an agreement on canceling the visas between the two countries. He added that cancelling the visas would enable the Yemeni and Turkish citizens to exchange visits as they were doing that in history.

President Gul thanked President Saleh on his generous acceptance for building a monument commemorating the Turkish martyrs at one of the squares in the Yemeni capital, considering the monument as a symbol and that the fraternity between the Yemenis and the Turks would last forever.

President Gul reiterated the confirmation that Turkey gives great importance to unity and sovereignty of the Yemeni territories as well as supporting Yemen’s efforts for fighting terrorism, saying there must be an international cooperation against terror.

On the developments taking place in Yemen at the democratic and economic levels , the Turkish President said, “ We are closely and in interest following up the reforms being achieved in Yemen and Turkey will continue offering its support for Yemen in its development and economic march. “

On the industrial area in Yemen he affirmed that Turkey is ready for cooperation with Yemen in this regard at the most possible capability, pointing out that the concerned Turkish ministers were holding talks for achieving cooperation in various fields.

President Gul said there is big number of Turkish investors and businessmen in the Turkish delegation and through meeting of the Turkish-Yemeni businessmen council they will meet and “e will offer support for achieving the joint investments in Yemen especially in the area of energy for we are ready for cooperation,”, indicating that the companies belonging to the two public and private sectors were with the delegation.

Concerning the health and education sector President Gul said they would endeavor to increase cooperation in those two fields and that the Turkish minister of health was holding talks with the Yemeni counterpart for establishing and strengthening the cooperation.

On cooperation between Turkey and Yemen in the areas of transport and communications, the Turkish President expressed his pleasure for the accomplished development in this area and said when he visited Yemen in 2005 as a foreign minister there were no direct trips from Turkey to Yemen and then “we talked with the President on beginning of starting air trips and today I feel happy the planes are moving mutually and every dayboy both countries’ airways. “

Te Turkish President said his talks with President Ali Abdullah Saleh have also tackled stability of the region and all that concerns the Arabian Peninsula, the Middle East and Africa, affirming identity of policy and viewpoints of Turkey with those of Yemen especially relating to the Palestinian issue which is also the issue of the Arab and Islamic nation.
