Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Wednesday has made a telephone call with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The phone conversation discussed many of issues concerning the relations between the two countries and the efforts and offices exerted by Qatar for the establishment of peace in Saada.
President Saleh valued highly the role and efforts that Qatar exerted with elements of the Houthi rebellion in Saada province for the establishment of security and peace.
The President has confirmed that the government has implemented all its commitments within those efforts and endeavors, clarifying that rebellion elements have not committed to what has been agreed on as well as the executive program agreed on in Doha which accordingly Qatar exerted its efforts for establishing peace within the frame of the 6-point upon which hostilities in the province were stopped.
The President said the those elements are continuing their aggressions on the citizens, committing security violations in the area , refusing handing over detainees from the sons of Saada and Harf Sufyan and refusing to return the remaining civilian and military equipment they had seized. They have also not committed to removing the checkpoints they have erected and which hinder movement of citizens in addition to continuing their interference in the local authority affairs.
President Saleh has expressed his thanks and appreciation of the efforts exerted by the state of Qatar to convince the elements of rebellion to abide by peace committees, emphasizing if those elements would not commit to what they previously announced of commitments to implement, they would shoulder the full responsibility for and the consequences resulting from that.
