Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired on Tuesday a meeting of the armed forces' leaders. At the meeting, President Saleh pointed that the nation has been in a crisis for more than two years, which led to the tension in the Yemeni street because of a foreign agenda and reached the military institution.
He pointed to the suspicious role of some media, which plays a major role in influencing people, considering some satellite channels as hostile to Yemen and its security and stability.
"Unfortunately a bad culture was created within the country and reached as I said to the military and security institution, and most recently the consequences that occurred yesterday", said Saleh.
He confirmed that the military institution is a safety valve and not owned by anyone, but media played a bad role which led to joining some army commanders to the opposition.
Saleh called on those commanders to retreat their attitude and leave the incitement and communication with the other commanders.
There is a constitution, laws, regulations and people's will, and a minority can not control the fate of the nation, President Saleh added.
The feature in the military side is the discipline and obedience, Saleh said pointing that the military and security leaders should only receive instructions from the Higher Commander, Defense Ministry and Presidency of the General Staff.
He held the armed forces' leaders responsible for maintaining the safety of the military institution, noting that any schism in this institution would negatively influence the country.
Those young people who talk about a youth revolution are victims of obsolete political forces, said Saleh.
Concluding his speech, Saleh urged the armed forces' leaders to continue in their units and maintain the security and stability, noting that the way is still open for those commanders, who joined the opposition, to return.
In the meeting, President Saleh discussed with the armed forces' leaders a number of issues and topics related to the functions of the armed forces in maintaining the security, stability, unity, democracy and constitutional legitimacy.
