Almotamar.net - The General Committee (GC) of the General People’s Congress (GPC) has held Thursday a meting chaired by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Chairman of the GPC, the ruling party in Yemen.

The meeting discussed developments of the situations in the national arena and the ramifications resulting from the political crisis caused by the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) and what is has created of climates of tension and concern in the homeland and threats of its security, stability, unity and democratic pursuit.

The GC studied suffering of the citizens as a result of many acts violating the law perpetrated by elements belonging to parties of the JMP and the Houthis.

The GC has emphasised its highly valuation of all the initiatives proposed by the President of the republic for the dialogue and avoiding the homeland from sedition and sliding to chaos and violence.

The meeting has also called on parties of the JMP to resort to reason and wisdom in responding to those calls in the way safeguarding the homeland’s security, stability and unity and achieving the higher national interest.

The GC noted that sabotage acts, violating the law, among them attacks on government complexes in Mareb, Al-Jawf and Saada, would increase congestion of the situations and harms the security, stability and public peace and would increase suffering of the citizens and creation of difficulties for their living life. Among those are what are going on at present of acts of highway robberies, prevention the reach of gas and fuel supplies to the capital and provinces and attacks on power cables of the power station in Mareb, which caused power cut for the citizens and creation of a crisis in providing diesel, petrol and gas.

The GC has hailed the sons of our great people who have always affirmed their standing by the constitutional legitimacy and security and stability and called all the citizens in the capital and the provinces to go tomorrow to the public squares to pray in expression of their rejection and condemnation of those acts and to express their rally behind the constitutional legitimacy and their rejection of acts of chaos and violence and the call for tolerance and national fraternity and coherence for preservation of the homeland and the citizens safety and preservation of the national gains , at the forefront of which the unity, the republic and political pluralism.

The meeting praised the great enthusiasm and influx of the masses of the people into the capital Sana’a from various provinces to take part in the Friday of Tolerance.
