almotamar.net - President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi chaired an NDC Consensus Committee meeting Thursday with UN Envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar.
The meeting centered on a number of issues, including the progress of the working groups and their overdue final reports.
At the meeting, President Hadi discussed the political, economic and security situation in the country, as well as the outcomes of his visits to Socotra archipelago and Aden province. Hadi said that several development, services, and strategy projects will be carried out to meet needs of Yemeni citizens in all Yemeni provinces.
"All Yemenis are awaiting the outcomes of the NDC because it is the only path for Yemen to overcome its challenges and move the country forward,” Hadi said. The final document produced at the NDC will be circulated to all provinces, Hadi said. NDC delegates will hold meetings, seminars and workshops with the public to inform citizens of the dialogue’s outcomes and how the dialogue will benefit the country.
He also spoke about the important role the Consensus Committee will play to lead the NDC to its final stage. President Hadi emphasized the importance of submitting all final reports as soon as possible.
The meeting also approved the formation of a drafting committee tasked with writing the final NDC document.
