Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Aziz Saleh bin Habtoor met here on Saturday with Chief of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Yemen Laurent de Boeck.
In the meeting, the IOM official briefed Dr. bin Habtoor on the organization's activity in cooperation with the concerned authorities in the areas of migration and relief for the displaced.
The meeting touched upon the project of fighting against malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS disease, which funded by the Global Fund to fight the three diseases, and the current cooperation between the organization and the Ministry of Public Health and Population in this aspect.
The prime minister confirmed the government's support to the IOM activities in Yemen, including the cooperation in the implementation of the project to fight those diseases in the targeted areas.
Dr. bin Habtoor pointed to the disastrous aftermaths of the Saudi aggression war and the blockade on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, which require doubling the size of the international support to mitigate them and helping the salvation government to address them.
For his part, de Boeck praised the cooperation between the organization and all relevant authorities with regard to the topics of illegal immigration, as well as contributing to the relief efforts for the displaced people in Yemen.
He affirmed the organization's keenness on strengthening the cooperation to serve the Yemeni people and alleviate their daily suffering because of the exceptional circumstances they are going through at this stage.
