almotamar.net - SANAA- The Yemeni foreign minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has demised correctness of reports claimed the presence in Yemen of Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, one of former pillars of the Iraqi Baath Party and deputy of late Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.
In statements to CNN Monday Dr. Qirbi said Yemen deals with all transparency with regard to presence of personalities or political asylums on its territories.
He added that reports aired by some media instruments as quoting the Iraqi president Jalal Talabani on the presence of al-Douri in Yemen are groundless, affirming that the Yemeni foreign ministry has issued an official statement that denied those reports.
Yemeni official sources had earlier refuted the allegations on the presence of Ibrahim al-Douri in Yemen, reported by some electronic websites owned by Iraqi journalists and were groundless.
The fate of al-Douri is still unknown and it is not known id he is hiding in Iraq or outside it at a time the American forces and Iraqi government accuse him to be behind escalation of acts of violence in Iraq.
Al-Douri, born in 1942, was one of the closest advisors to President Saddam Hussein and was the sixth on the list of those wanted by America. The American forces had earlier announced allocation of a $ 10 million reward to be given to any person giving information leading to the arrest of al-Douri.
