Almotamar.net - General Secretariat (GS) of the General People's Congress (GPC) held a meeting Saturday chaired by Secretary-General of the ruling party Abdulqader Bajammal where it got acquainted with what has been agreed on regarding resumption of dialogue with political parties and organisations represented in the Yemeni parliament in response to call by p [resident Ali Abdullah Saleh he extended to political parties in his speech on the 17th national day of the Yemeni unity.

The GPC GS affirmed that the dialogue with the political parties and organisations represents a necessity for enhancing democracy and political partnership.

The GS also considered developments of the events of Saada after Yemeni armed forces and security have tightened the grip around the terrorists and praised the efforts the armed forces and security are exerting in fighting the terrorist elements. The meeting also praised the role of the inhabitants of Saada in supporting the army and the security in preventing terrorist elements from carrying out operations inside their villages and areas.

The GS renewed the call on all political parties and organisations as well as civil society organisations to take united stands in facing the sedition and sabotage acts practiced in some areas of Saada governorate.

The GS meeting approved the mechanism of activating the organisational action to keep pace with the political action witnessed in Yemen in the manner guaranteeing effective contribution to the GPC to serve issues of the society and dealing with woes of the citizens in various governorates of Yemen.
