Almotamar.net - The minister of industry and trade revealed Thursday a decision taken by his ministry on transferring all sales managers in the government cement factories in the wake of the rise in prices of cement markets in Yemen.

In a press conference held Thursday at the ministry the minister Dr Yahya Al-Mutawaklil said "We changed all sales managers to stop manipulation in selling and distribution and e held boards of directors of the three government factories responsible for managing selling of cement material."

The minister attributed the rise in cement prices to shortage of supply due to stoppage of the old production line of Amran cement factory until it is to be linked to the new production line in addition to middlemen. The minister said his ministry presented proposed decisions to give general prosecutions authority to carry out inspection and control campaigns against those who violate prices and the ministry is to discuss this with prosecutions.

The minister denied any intention of raising prices, considering the price rise phenomenon as world one not just local.
