Almotamar.net - Activities of the 4th Town Tourist festival were inaugurated Thursday in the city of Mukalla with collective swimming in the sea. The activities were attended by deputy of parliament speaker Jaafar Saeed Basaleh, the governor of Hadramout Taha Abdullah Hajir, deputies of the governor and massive gathering of Yemenis from inside and abroad.

The governor of Hadramout expressed his pleasure for the inauguration of the festival that is coinciding this year with the 29th anniversary of electing President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

In a statement to almotamar.net the governor said in accordance with the president's directives the next festival will be a regional one to attract more investments and more tourists from Arab and friendly countries. What distinguishes this year's festival is the recreation park entering the country for the first time implemented by Al-Khaleej Company for Exhibitions and Festivals.

The governor of Hadramout also called on businessmen and establishments to good interaction with activities of the festival held this year under the motto "Mukalla, a city for all". It includes many of variety of activities and commercial exhibitions aimed at prosperity of commercial and marketing movement of the city of Mukalla in tourism field.

The canal of Al-Mukalla Khour witnessed on Thursday afternoon a folkloric activity bearing the name of Al-Nakhour, Al-Rayan which narrates the travel of ancestors inquest of living and spread teaching the Islamic religion to the countries of the Arabian peninsula, south east Asia and east Africa in past periods using sail ships and camels.

The activity was permeated Yemeni and Gulf dancing presented by folkloric troupes received great applause of the audience of the festival.
