Almotamar.net - A Yemeni official source said Friday the report issued by the US State Department committee of this year regarding Yemeni child trafficking is " repeated" and did not bring anything new and its syllabuses are based on previous reports depending on inaccurate information most of it taken from opposition newspapers.

The media quoted the source as saying what has been mentioned in the report on children trafficking is not accurate as the competent authorities have combated the phenomenon and chased children smugglers who stood trial.

The official source added "The phenomenon of Yemeni children smuggling has become in its lowest limits after the number of children who were smuggled to Saudi Arabia had reached in one of the years to tens of thousands of children while in the last year there was only 600 cases.

Although the US State Department report included information the source described as inaccurate, the report also pointed out that the Yemeni government has established a centre for providing the victim children returned from Saudi Arabia with social services and certain health care. It said in one year the centre received 796 children only and provided family reunion for 758 children.
