Almotamar.net - American Center for International Labor Solidarity is to organise a symposium in Sana'a on Wednesday to discuss the experiment of professional trade unions in observation of the Yemeni elections that were held in September 2006.

The aim of the symposium is to develop the experiment in future and to activate the role of trade unions in the electoral process in particular and the Yemeni democratic experiment in general.

The Yemeni presidential and local elections in which the General People's Congress won the presidency post and most of the local councils seats, witnessed political mobility represented by the large people participation, strong election propaganda competition that made many foreign sides praise the Yemeni democratic experiment.
