Almotamar.net - Yemen's transport minister Khalid Ibrahim said Monday that weather factors were behind the skidding of the Yemeni airliner Sunday night and running out of the main runway at Sana'a International Airport. He affirmed resumption of landing and taking off of all plane trips via the airport after a two-hour closure Sunday night.

The minister listened to voice recording of contact between the airplane and the control tower of the airport made during the last minutes before skidding.

The Yemeni news agency quoted the transport minister as saying what happened to the Yemeni plane does happen at many airports in the world especially in such weather and heavy rains, indicating safety of all its passengers who got down of the plane normally.

The Yemeni airliner Airbus 310 had Sunday night slipped off the runway during its landing at Sana'a airport and that led to change navigation movement in Yemen to Aden airport.

A source at the Yemeni airways company told almotamar.net that all passengers on board the plane, which came from Paris, were safe and there was no material damage. The source also re-affirmed that no human or material damage happened and all passengers were brought down the plane safely.
