almotamar.net - Specialised First Instance Criminal Court on Saturday condemned seven persons accused of taking part in forging official letters, stamps used for employment and scholarships in the name of the ministry of higher education in Yemen as well as on charge of fraud.

The verdict read out by Judge Radwan al-Nimr stipulated imprisonment of the first defendant Ali al-Hamidi for 4 years from the time of his arrest. It sentences the second and third defendants for three years each and the fourth and seventh defendants for two years.

The court acquitted three defendants of the charges against them for insufficient evidence. It sentenced other two defendants for one year in prison on charge of bribery. The court decided that the defendants who practiced fraud should also pay back the money they got from the persons, on which they practiced fraud, amounting to $ 35 thousand and YR 620 thousand.
