almotamar.net - Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed of Oman has Sunday stressed the importance of the Yemeni-Omani relations for strengthening security in the Peninsula and the region, affirming Oman Sultanate keenness on unity, security and stability of Yemen.

The Sultan's statement came during his meeting with the visiting Yemeni foreign minister on Sunday Dr Abubakr al-Qirbi who conveyed a message from president Ali Abdullah Saleh to Sultan of Oman dealing with bilateral relations, aspects of cooperation and their development in addition to Yemen's relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council states at all political, economic and security levels as well as regional and international developments.

Sultan Qaboos has called for more cooperation between the GCC states and Yemen in the way developing economic, investment and security relations and expanding the area of partnership.

The Sultan of Oman expressed his happiness with the distinguished relations between the two countries and developments in Yemen in various fields under leadership of President Ali Abdullah Saleh. .
