In his speech at the opening of a symposium on the roadmap of Yemen integration with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held in Aden Sunday, al-Arhabi affirmed that many studied revealed that Yemen's incorporation with the FCC states would form a strategic depth, additional dimension and an active participation in the process of development as well as consolidation of the security and stability in the region.

The Yemeni minister pointed out that Yemen has sought help of international expertise for speeding up steps on the way of qualifying the Yemeni economy and integrating it in the Gulf economies. He added that Yemen is currently reconsidering laws related to investment in the way compatible with new developments, especially regarding Yemen's joining of the World Trade Organisation and the unified laws of the GCC states. The minister explained that the Yemeni government has carried out many national reforms, the president of the republic election platform and the third plan for economic and social development for poverty alleviation that would improve the standard of the economic performance and raise efficiency of allocation and investment of available economic resources and upgrade indicators of good governance.

On his part the representative of the GCC General Secretariat Najib Abdullah al-Shamisi pointed out that the GCC fully believes that Yemen constitutes a natural, geographic, cultural and civilization extension for the GCC states and strategic and pivotal partner for the stability and development of the region.
