almotamar.net - A scientific study on small and medium industries in Yemen mentioned Thursday that the problem of funding constituters the most significant of hindrances that impede growth of those installations in addition to not including them in incentives and facilities system the state offers in line with investment law.
The study also considered the technical well-trained labour among the major problems the small and medium industries face as well as incompatibility of public education and technical and vocational training with requirements of those projects. And that has deepened the gap between outputs of technical and training education and requirements of work in those instillations.
The study, prepared by economics professor at Sana'a University and presented at the Arab 4th meeting of small and medium industries held late last November, mentioned the role of civil society organisations was absent in focusing on the aspect of technical and vocational training and qualification in the small and medium installations in addition to labourers preference to work for big installations due to their ability to pay higher wages and more incentives.
