almotamar.net - Powerful explosion on Thursday rocked a qat market that was crowded with people in Talh area north of the city of Saada, Yemen killing or wounding 20 people.

Reports are conflicting about the number of the incident victims. Local sources told almotamatr.net that the victims of the explosion were four persons and six other injured while a security source mentioned that the killed were 6 and the injured 15. The source said explosion of an explosive charge happened because of a citizen at the qat market had tampered with it.

Yemeni news agency quoted brigadier general Mohammed Hamoud as saying the injured were taken to hospital for treatment and the victims dead bodies were given to their families. He has attributed the increase in the number of victims to the explosion coincidence with high crowdedness in the market, stressing that investigations were still underway to discover causes of the incident.
