almotamar.net - In a dialogue session held Wednesday the political parties and organisations announced the setting up of jurists working team to draft what has been reached of amendments on the law for political parties and organisations in introduction to the final drafting of amendments projects in the next meeting.
The meeting was chaired by the secretary general of the General People's Congress (GPC) Andulqader Bajammal and attended by the minister for shoura and parliament affairs, the chairman of the committee for political parties and organisations affairs Dr Adnan al-Jifri.
The meeting reviewed the paper presented by a number of political parties and organisations regarding proposals on the electoral system on basis of proportional list in the parliamentary, shoura and local elections.
The meeting agreed to prepare a working paper on the electoral system especially in the field of implementation concerning the parliament and the shoura and to submit all tangible realities to social and cultural level of electors. The meeting adopted the part of the paper pertaining to stances about the formation of the supreme commission for elections where the participants confirmed what was previously submitted concerning the question of accord. They affirmed that the essence of accord is also represented by equality among all legally-recognised parties.
O the other hand the meeting condemned the blockade and starvation the people of Palestine are facing in Gaza Strip by the Zionist entity and its practice of state terror and expressed their denunciation of that barbaric aggression.
The meeting also condemned the terrorist act against the Belgian tourists and their companions in Hadramout governorate and resulted in the killing and wounding of a number of tourists and their companions, a matter contradicting the morals and values of the Islamic religion.
The meeting grouped leaderships of political parties and organisations of the GPC, Sons of Yemen League, Arab Baath Socialist , September Democratic Organisation, Yemeni Unionist Assembly, People's Unionist Liberation, Social Greenpeace , People's Democratic, Liberation Front Party, Democratic Union of People's forces, Nationalist Social Party and People's Unity Party.
