almotamar.net - The Yemeni Shoura Council called Sunday for concentration on the qualitative dimension in the private sector university education and to focus on technological subjects in the curricula as well as encouragement technical and technological institutes so that to be able to cover needs of the labour market.
At the conclusion of its discussion of private education topic in its meeting chaired by chairman o the Shoura Council Abdulaziz Abdulghani it stressed the importance of considering the private sector education within the frame of educational process that should be receiving the required development on a basis of educational philosophy focusing on creativity and development of school administration in addition to preparation of the teacher in a good way.
The council also called for assessment of outputs of private education, encouraging universities that achieve distinguished success and taking measures against the universities that add bad outputs to the society.
Discussions in the council also stressed the importance of activating monitor on performance of private schools and to oblige them to fix reasonable duties on their students and the responsibility of the society regarding evolvement the private sector education.
On the other hand the minister of education emphasised the importance of private sector education organised by laws and legislations in absorbing the increasing numbers of students and in bearing the burdens of education along with the government.
The minister of higher education affirmed that criteria of improving performance in private universities are included in the law regulating this type of education, pointing out that there are 19 private university and faculties.
