almotamar.net - Yemen's Ministry of Public Health and Population announcer Wednesday it has raised reserves of medicines fund of chronic diseases by 10% in order to cope with disruption of necessary medicines for such diseases.
Director General of medicinal supplies at the Health Ministry Dr Abdulqawi al-Junaid said agreements were signed directly with world companies for providing those medicines over two years instead of what was previously done in contracting with companies for six months period only.
Dr al-Junaid denied reports on stop of medicines used in kidney transplantation, confirming that the ministry managed to break monopoly of essential drugs companies and was able to import large quantities of drugs enough for longer periods with competitive prices.
