Almotamar.net - Women National Committee (WNC), Alliance of Safe Maternity and a number of civil organisations in Yemen discuss next Saturday on the occasion of the International Woman Day would organize a ceremony with participation of representatives for the government.

WNC would in the celebration consider the changes happened to reality of the woman and to propose suggestions and solutions for the difficulties and challenges hindering the realization of the aspired goals and ambitions.

The participants from national and international organisations in the event would review the annual report on the situation of the woman in Yemen that includes quantitative indicators and an analysis will be presented on circumstances and factors that led to these positive developments.

The ceremony will also shed the light on the legal amendments under deliberation at the parliament and the significance of approving them to secure full rights for the woman in the private and public life. It is also scheduled that the participants would cast light on the question of application of the quota in the upcoming parliamentary elections, which were at the top of the president of the republic concern in his political initiative by allocation of 15% of the parliament seats for the woman and that comes as a translation of his election platform regarding empowerment of the woman which was not confined to the political field but went beyond to include other areas.

Woman personalities at the WNC confirm that the last year witnessed positive steps towards enhancement of the woman presence at decision-making positions as the movement of appointments at any government institution was not without appointment of women here and there and that is an orientation for providing wider spaces for the women who possess experience and efficiency and those holding higher qualifications for assuming leading posts.
