Almotamar.net - The Republic of Yemen has nominated MP Dr Jafar Saeed Basaleh as its candidate for the post of Secretary General of the Federation of Member Parliaments of the Organisation of Islamic Conference OIC).

On his and the accompanying delegation leaving of Sana'a for Turkey on Friday Basaleh said he will present Yemen's candidacy to the Secretary General post in meetings of the second extraordinary session of the OIC's member states Parliaments Federation to be held in Istanbul on 24 of this month.

He said the meeting would discuss many topics on activity of the parliaments federation and election of a new secretary general.

MP Basaleh is member of the General People's Congress (GPC) parliamentary bloc and his latest parliamentary post is deputy speaker for parliamentary and external relations affairs.
