Security sources in Al-Mahara governorate that three Egyptian fishing boats were seized Sunday offshore the districts of Qashan and Seihut and at the same time Yemeni Coast Guard foiled an escape attempt other two boats and arrested them near the Gulf of Aden. Bab-el-Mandab area. Official sources of the Coast Guard at the Red Sea sector told almotamar.net that the number of Egyptian fishermen on board of the two boats amounted to 38 while the number of fishermen on board of the three other boats is not known yet.

Concerned authorities in the governorate of Aden began investigation into violation of the two boats while the Coast Guard men in al-Mahara governorate on Monday sent fishermen of the other three boats to prosecution for violation of the fishing law.

Concerned authorities in the two countries have lately signed an agreement obliging Egyptian fishermen intending to practice fishing inside the Yemeni regional waters to obtain official permission from Yemeni authorities.
