Almotamar.net - The Middle East Regional Advisor of World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr Susan Farhoud called for speeding up inclusion of the International Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) in curricula of medicine colleges and higher health institutes in Yemen.

In a statement to almotamar.net she said this incorporation has a very strong necessity especially after that Yemen has achieved a slow advancement in reduction of the fatalities among children less than five years. She indicated to the latest report by UNICEF on the rate of children fatalities that revealed 84 thousand Yemeni children under the age of five years die every year, equaling 250 children daily.

For securing incorporation of IMCI in curricula of Yemeni colleges of medicine and health institutes Farhoud affirmed the importance of a written official acceptance by decision-makers at medical colleges and institutes.
